The Dry Collodion Process Charles A Long Books
34 pages- and 7 of them are period advertising. Since it was written in 1857 you'll probably need a copy of Lindsay's "Chemical Cross Reference" to decipher the old chemical names into their modern equivalents if you want to try to use this little booklet (at least it's only $12.32).The most valuable feature I've seen in it (I didn't know "dry" collodion was invented so early in photography)- is the pneumatic plate holder shown on page 16,. I've gotten the impression from YouTube, and elsewhere, that holding the plate while coating it with collodion was a rather awkward process. This thing would be much better…if you could just find a modern equivalent, some sort of suction cup thing like those used to handle sheets of window glass maybe?
That plate holder, if you can come up with one of some sort, is maybe the most valuable feature of this booklet.
